DESCRIPTION
The Travel Photographer of the Year 2013 is open for entries
Mission - To showcase the outstanding photography and the creative imagery of photographers around the world.
Travel photography crosses many genres and styles. It inspires people to travel and stimulates interest in our changing world. From the aspirational to the imagery of current events, TPOTY reflects the beauty and power of the planet plus the fascination and fragility of its many cultures.
Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) is the leading and highly prestigious international travel photography contest. The awards are open to anyone - children, students, adults, amateur or professional.
TPOTY is run by photographers for photographers and it's about the very best travel photography. But we also seek to create opportunities for beginners, students and amateurs aspiring to embark upon a career in photography, encouraging less experienced photographers to get involved and develop.
TPOTY receives massive international exposure and, as those who have been talented enough to win it can vouch, creates a strong awareness of their photography and boosts their photographic profile.
How to enter:
1. Choose your categories:
TPOTY 2013 has:
• Three Portfolio categories - Monochromal, Vanishing & Emerging Cultures and Wild Stories
• Two single image categories, - One Shot and First Shot
• New Talent category
• HD Video category, Travel Shorts
• Young Travel Photographer of the Year award (with two different age groups)
• The Cutty Sark Award for the overall winner and Travel Photographer of the Year 2013
• 10 special single image awards, each with a different theme - 10 For 10
• Choose the category/ categories you wish to enter and are eligible for. You can enter any category more than once apart from New Talent. However, New Talent can be entered along with other categories that you are eligible for.
By submitting two or more ‘Portfolio’ categories you will be automatically considered and eligible for the Cutty Sark Award and title ‘Travel Photographer of the Year’.
2. Read the rules & check your eligibility: The rules contain vital information on eligibility. It's your responsibility to ensure that your images are eligible.
3. Select which images: Photographers don't always choose their best images. You'll find lots of useful information to help you with Selecting Your Images. This will also guide you on what the judges look for.

TPOTY is open for entry for almost six months. There will not be a deadline extension!
7. Submit high-res entry images for TPOTY exhibitions/books (optional):
Want your images considered for TPOTY books or exhibitions? If yes, include a CD or DVD of print-resolution versions of your entered images. See Online Entries and Print Entries pages for instructions on how to do this.
