Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication hosts the International Conference on Media and Communication
Lavale, Pune, 6th October 2016: Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Pune is set to host an international academic conference with host faculty and researchers from across the globe and India on October 6th and 7th, 2016. The theme, “International Conference on Media and Communication: Prospects and Challenges" will focus on what the future of the media industry will look like as well as the hurdles it could face by means of research papers presented by the students of the institute.
Gracing the event will be an esteemed panel of renowned industry stalwarts namely Nishant Shah (Leuphana University, Germany), Suresh Ramanathan (Mays Business School, Texas), Daya Thusu (University of Westminster, London), Stephen McDowell (Florida State University, Florida) and Nick Couldry (London School of Economics and Political Science, London) among other experts of the industry who will enlighten us about the nitty gritties of the industry and its future.
The conference will particularly highlight the impact of global socio-cultural discourses in the media terrain and facilitate a better understanding of how traditional media will ride the tide of the digital age. Moreover, the conference will serve as a platform to harness and nurture interdisciplinary research perspectives and encourage media and communication research for social and technological development.
