How Grace Marks are Given ??

I have a big doubt that "Grace Marks will be given" means, those marks are given apart from the actual marks obtained by a student or if the particular student attends specific questions, which are wrong, grace marks are awarded for that question alone??
Please clear my doubt...

Grace Marks are given for particular student who attends specific questions, which are wrong........
For the student , by the student , to the student !!
