How Internal and External Marks are calculated by Anna University.

Hi Guys , Some of them having doubt about internal mark calculation and how they are combined with theory marks.This is the solution for all your doubts.

you have 2 areas to score marks:

• Internal marks
  
• External marks
  

Internal Marks:

• It is a mark given by your staff who handling the particular subject.
  
• Usually it will be calculated from your performance. It Includes
  

      
        1) Your Marks in Unit test (test conducted by your college).
        2) Attendance.

                     

• 96 –100% = 5 Marks
  
• 91 – 95% = 4 Marks
  
• 86 – 90% = 3 Marks
  
• 81 – 85% = 2 Marks
  
• 75 – 80% = 1 Marks
  

Average of your score in Unit test (for 15 marks) + Attendance mark (for 5) = 20 marks.

The Colleges can give their internal marks to Anna University through online. At the time of giving the internal marks they convert the 20 marks in to 100 marks.

External Marks :

• External marks is a mark given by some one else correcting your theory paper written in Anna University examination.
  
• You will be writing for 100 marks (10-2marks and 5-16marks).
  
• Initially your external mark will be given for 100%. When both is over it will be combined.
  

How the Internal and External marks are Converted and then combined and produced 100%?

• It Will be done as follows.
  

1) First your theory marks is converted to 80% from 100%.
2) Then the internal marks is converted to 20% from 100%.

For Example :
          You get 50 marks out of 100 in your theory means. It will be changed to 40 out of 80.
          your internal is 95 means that is divided by 5 means you get 19 marks..

            Therefore 40 + 19 = 59 marks(your final mark out of 100)

Minimum Pass marks for both internal and External :

For theory exam : 45 out of 100 (if you get less than 45 even if you got 20 on internals you will be fail)

For internal : there is no minimum pass marks (even if you got zero you got 62marks out of 100 theory exam means you will pass)

Bro For theory below 45 mean fail ah..??
I Hope its wrong... Assume i have 20 Marks in Internal, My Theory Mark is 37.5
Now,
Converting 37.5 to 80%
Theory Mark is : 30
Internal Mark is : 20
Total : 50

Its means Pass.. So 37.5 is minimum mark when the internal is 20.. Right..??

I have confused...you're right 45 marks means when you got internal 14 marks...

45 converted to 80 means 36marks + 14 internals = 5o marks.....
