Speed up Windows XP on your computer by just turn off indexing and turn off hibernation.
To turn off indexing:
1. Open up ‘My Computer.
2. Right-click on your hard drive (usually C and choose ‘Properties’.
3. Uncheck the box at the bottom that reads ‘Allow Indexing Service to’
4. Click OK, and files will be removed from memory.
To turn off Hibernation:
1.Right click on the desktop.
2.Click Properties
3.Hit the Screen Saver tab
4.Click the Power button under Monitor Power
5. Click the “Hibernation” tab, then uncheck the box next to “Enable Hibernation”
6. Press “OK”
