On passing in San Francisco Oracle OpenWorld 2012 announced corporate operating system Oracle Solaris 11.1. As the presentation of new items's executive vice president of Oracle, John Fowler, just update the eleventh version sold about 300 new features, including support uluchennuyu cluster systems, as well as to better adapt the OS to cloud environments. Among other innovations Solaris 11.1 can provide an updated kernel which now supports up to 32 terabytes of memory, which allows a single physical deploy dozens of guest OS. "Solaris engineering team works very closely with other parts of the corporation, in particular with the Department on the development of databases, so many functions in different Oracle products complement each other," - says Fowler.
Note that Solaris 11.1 release also means for most Oracle increasing sales of its hardware, as many customers are buying new servers tied to the output of the new operating systems. For these clients in Solaris there are some tools for data migration from previous operating systems, as well as competitors, particularly with Linux or Windows.
For users working with virtualization, the new OS offers a fully updated set of Solaris Container and VM for Sparc to create virtual OS. Recall that the version of Solaris 11.0 was released almost a year ago.
