"Mobile traffic in the third quarter has doubled compared to the third quarter of 2011"
The volume of mobile data, the transmitter for the last year, actually doubled amid growing popularity of mobile service. This is stated in the report of the Swedish company Ericsson.
Ericsson say that mobile traffic in the third quarter has doubled compared to the third quarter of 2011. Compared with the second quarter of 2012 the volume of traffic has grown by 16%.
The report networking vendor said that the trend in the growth of information transmitted via mobile devices has not dried up, in fact, it is gaining momentum. Previously, the company has already published forecast that the volume of transmitted data over cellular networks will increase twice every six years. Now Ericsson say that because of the popularity of video sharing services, this estimate was too low.
The company now says that ultrabooks and tablets will be in the coming years the main generator of mobile data traffic, but by 2018 the number of smart phones and their capacity will be such that they will be equal to the amount of data to the plates / ultrabook.
Ericsson also states that as many as 40% of all phones sold in the third quarter were smartphones. "Mobile devices are increasingly part of everyday life, they become part of our habits. With them, people are increasingly reaching the net, chatting, watching TV shows and video,"
