Abstract:
This paper presents a systematic approach to derive an efficiency-optimized modulation scheme for the DAB, which enables ZVS on the HV side without the need for additional circuitry. The soft-switching DAB consists of two full bridges, interfaced by a high-frequency (HF) transformer, and was originally introduced for realizing high-efficiency and high-power density, isolated DC/DC conversions with the capability of buck-boost operation and bidirectional power flow. The operation of the DAB DC-DC converter has been verified through extensive simulation. A DAB converter prototype was designed on the proposed model and was built for energy storage in the aerospace applications.
