Vector Analysis
Vector analysis is a mathematical tool with which electromagnetic (EM)   concepts are most conveniently expressed and best comprehended. 

Scalar Field
A scalar field is a function that gives us a single value of some variable for every point in space. A quantity that has only magnitude 
Examples: voltage, current, energy, temperature, mass , time distance, charge
