Abstract :
When anyone knocks the door while you watch a very enthralling program in TV, may be the last minute of a soccer match, your mind won’t allow you to think about your visitor. If the person outside is your opportunity, naturally you might have missed that. If it is possible to make out the person at the door in your TV screen, you can decide which is vital; either the program or the person. This paper is to explain an automated home security system in which the person who waits at the door appears in a sized portion of the TV screen with the TV program unaltered. A pop up screen, that shows the video from the camera placed at the door side, comes into view in the TV screen. This system is fully automated such that, only when the person stands near the door, the camera gets ON and sends the video signal to the TV all the way through some sophisticated circuitry. Once the person leaves, everything goes to its OFF state.
